City Tarvisio (Tarvisio)
Tarvisio is a beautiful small town in the province of Udine, almost on the border with Austria and Slovenia. The city is located on northeastern Italy in the scenic mountainous Alps. This is the center ski tourism, because in winter it is quite cold and very a lot of snow. In the warm period, here it is calm and inexpensive.
Also, the neighborhood of the city is famous for its very beautiful nature – the harsh Alps, dense coniferous forests, as well as stunning views, which open from the slopes of the mountains.
Nature of Tarvisio
Story
The origin of Tarvisio and the beginning of the history of the city is connected with Celts. It was they who formed the first settlement here – Taurisci. From the beginning of the 11th century, Tarvisio was ruled by CityBamberg. At this time, the commercial value of the settlement increases. In 1456 from the Bishop of Bamberg the city got the honor to hold the annual fair, which is still being held since then
Historical Centre
Since the 15th century in Tarvisio, heavy begins to flourish industry – mining and processing of iron. At the end of the 15th century the settlement is subject to looting by the Turks. Starting from the 16th century here was the border of the territory of the Venetian Republic. In during the Napoleonic wars the neighborhood of the settlement became places battles between Austrian and French troops.
Tarvisio became part of Italy only in 1919, after the First world war. A significant impetus to the development of the town gave him Location – almost on the highway Venice-Vienna.

Camporosso (Camporosso) – a small commune in the suburbs Tarvisio, located in a small valley surrounded by the Alps. By cable car you can climb to the mountain Lussari (Monte Santo di Lussari), on which is located the old monastery and church, as well as ski slope, which takes skiers from December to April. From the top of the mountain a beautiful view of the surroundings.
