Talsi (Latvia)
Talsi – a city in northwestern Latvia in a historic region Kurzeme. This is a small picturesque town located on 9 the hills on the banks of two lakes. Talsi – settlement is enough older. The first written mention of it dates back to 1231 year. In the 10-13 century there was a well-fortified settlement here, and in 14-15 century castle of the Livonian Order. City status received only in 1917
