Sand Island – Wyspa Piasek

Sand Island is one of the islands within the historic CenterWroclaw. Connected bridges with the Tumsky island (Tumsky bridge) and the right bank of the Odra – Mlinsky by the bridge.

The name of the island dates back to the name of the old church – Virgin Mary in the Sand, built here in the Middle Ages. Island area about 5 hectares.

Interesting sights:

1. The Tumsky Bridge or the Lovers’ Bridge – a steel bridge 59 in length meters built in the late 19th century on the site of an old wooden the bridge.
