Old Town Hall -Ratusz Staromiejski
Old Town Hall – a famous landmark of Prague, located on Old Town Square. This is one of the most important and beautiful buildings of the historic district of Prague Stare Mesto. Base Town Hall dates back to the 14th century. At a height of 70 meters is located observation deck, which can be reached on weekdays from 9.00 to 19.00, and on weekends from 9.00 to 18.00. It opens with a stunning view of the old town.
In 1945, part of the town hall (north wing) was completely ruined.

The medieval astronomical clock, also called Prague Astronomical Clock, located on the south wall of the Town Hall. This is one of The most famous watches in the world that have great popularity among tourists thanks to a small presentation (see video below), which takes place every hour from 8.00 to 20.00. It begins, when the upper windows open and in them one by one in pairs figures of the twelve apostles appear. Also pay attention to the figures of the astronomical clock: the figure of Death turns the hourglass up, nods and pulls the the bell, the figure of Vanity turns its head and looks into a mirror from different sides, the figure of Avarice shakes the bag with money, and Turk negatively shakes his head. The astronomical clock consists of three parts:
- astronomical clocks that show the position of the heavenly tel;
- calendar showing months;
- upper windows in which the figures of the apostles appear.
