Kouřim
Kouřim – a tiny Czech town located in 50 km east of Prague. Despite the small size in the city there several interesting old sights. Special It should be noted fortification strengthening of the city, built in the 13-16th century. The fortifications had 18 semi-cylindrical towers By twists. Part of the fortifications has been preserved to this day. Of the four gates, only one was left – Prague, which are one of the most good preserved gothic gates to Europe.

Story
Already in the 6th century, these places were chosen by the Slavs, who founded here is the first settlement.

In the 7th century, a large fortified settlement arose here, which even at first competed with Prague.
