Kokorzhin Castle (Czech Republic)
Kokorzhin – a stone castle on a sandy hill in a picturesque forest areas and small villages of the Czech Republic, located above River Pshovka about 40 km from Prague. The fortress was founded at 13 century. The castle was abandoned after the Thirty Years War in the 17th century. Austrian Emperor Ferdinand forbade restoring Kokorzhin. The castle dilapidated and turned into a shelter for dashing people. In the 19th century Ruins bought a wealthy Prague entrepreneur who spent expensive restoration of the castle.
Kokorzhin Castle works according to the following schedule:
- April – October: Sat – Sun from 9.00 to 16.00
- May – September: Tue – Sun from 9.00 to 16.00
- June, July, August: Tues – Sun from 9.00 to 17.00
