“Entry fee” – one of the first (and most important) steps Venetian authorities to combat excessive tourism. Venice is a very popular tourist destination. City Millions of tourists visit and it’s harder to keep Venetians necessary infrastructure. The authorities estimate the new collection will allow raise an additional about 57,000,000 € which direct to street cleaning of garbage and other social projects. This will allow reduce the financial burden on indigenous Venetians.
The collection plan to enter the summer of 2019. First participants the experiment will be passengers of cruise liners who go into Venetian harbor. For other groups of tourists such a fee it will turn out to enter, most likely, not earlier than 2020.
