By следние дни на Крите наблюдается очень жаркая погода. ПоAccording to weather forecasters, the air temperature on August 8 and 9 may rise to 42 degrees C, respectively high fire hazard remains in almost all areas of Crete. Local authorities are calling population increase their vigilance and at any time be ready start fire suppression.

In another region of Greece near the city of Marathon (32 km from Athens), a forest fire is raging that has already destroyed several inhabited houses in the village of Avra.
Imposing forces have been thrown into the struggle against the elements of nature: 30 fire brigades and 8 units of aviation equipment.
