Согласно пилотной программе Министерства развития Греции в семи”hot” tourist regions shop owners will allowed to open doors to customers on Sundays. Program starts on July 7, and it is planned that it will last one year.
Regions that fall under the program:
- Attica: the historical center of Athens (including shops, located on Ermou Street, on Omonia Square), in the port Raffins
- South Aegean Islands: Rhodes, Kos, Syros
- Central Macedonia: the historical part of Thessaloniki (including Tsimis street) and Halkidiki
By decision of the Ministry, the stores of the three regions listed above can be opened on Sundays at any time of the year. Question The extension of the program will be revised in the spring of 2015. Recall that today the majority of greek shops work on the following graphics:
- Mon: 9:00 (8:30) * – 14:00 or 15:00
- Tue: 9:00 (8:30) * – 14:00 or 15:00; 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm (9:00 pm) *
- Wed: 9:00 (8:30) * – 14:00 or 15:00
- Thu: 9:00 (8:30) * – 14:00 or 15:00; 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm (9:00 pm) *
- Fri: 9:00 (8:30) * – 14:00 or 15:00; 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm (9:00 pm) *
- Sat: 9:00 (8:30) * – 15:00
- Sunday is a day off
Supermarkets are open daily from 8:00 to 20:00
