The annual international road marathon “Road to Rhodes” will be held on the island on April 17 for the third time.

Municipal authorities intend to repeat the success of previous years when the number of participants exceeded 1200 people. As the priority tasks the organizers call the development of rhodes as popular sports destination.
On April 17, at 8:00, runners from different countries will gather in northern part of the city. They will overcome the route that will be laid through the most picturesque corners of the Rhodian capital. In that the routes have been changed in the year – the marathon will begin and end on Eleftherias Square. Among the participants claimed as amateurs, and professionals, as well as children. Little runners have to overcome distance of 1 km.
The marathon was sponsored by Greek hoteliers, companies for sportswear production and carriers Aegean Airlines and Blue Star Ferries. For participants and their support groups prepared special rates for accommodation, meals and transport services.
