Paris through the eyes of a Greek: an exhibition opened in Athens Epaminondas Papadopoulos

Until March 31 in the Athens City Museum will be held unique exhibition of works by the Greek artist Epaminondas Papadopoulos The native of Athens was known simply as “Nonda” in mainly in art circles of paris where i spent most of own life. The first large-scale exhibition of his works in his hometown already held in 2006 and was a huge success.

Paris through the eyes of a Greek: the exhibition of Epaminondas Papadopoulos opened in AthensNew the exhibition was called “Paris of Nonda”, and the curator made by the artist’s daughter. The exhibition covers all periods creativity and life of Papadopoulos, who had a certain influence on the development of European art of the XX century and modernism in general. BUT in Paris circles he was known as a leading artist Greek origin.

At the exhibition, visitors can see the top 50 works. They distributed to the five galleries of the museum and clearly demonstrate that how the streets of Paris and its inhabitants met the artist. Basically Nonda transferred to the canvas the images of the well-known districts of Pigalle, Montmartre and Plas Blanche, in which Papadopoulos worked and watched city ​​life. In some pictures in the inimitable technique the artist depicts Paris in the postwar years and later periods.

The city museum is open on weekdays, from 9 to 16 (except Tuesday). At the weekend – from 10 to 15.
