Day open door is an international event that contributes to the popularization of architectural values, returns to Athens is the third time. Every year for one weekend private and public institutions open for free visits Athens is transformed into one big museum.
Greek capital will present its centuries-old heritage April 16-17. 450 volunteers will accompany visitors to 91 buildings of the Greek capital. Involved in the project Museum of Cycladic Art, Athens City Council, Jewish Museum, Municipal Theater of Piraeus, Vorres Museum, hotels and dozens neoclassical mansions. A year ago, 68 buildings were involved and 370 volunteers, and the idea of the project was accepted by tourists and Athenians with enthusiasm.
In addition to the free entry to the buildings on April 16-17, the organizers have scheduled side events. Can join a bike tour of athens or take part in photo contest – upload a picture related to the Open Day, on Instagram and wait for the jury’s decision.
