100 representatives of Italian travel agencies and journalists had opportunity not only to get acquainted with Halkidiki closer, but also try selected Greek foods. Italian press not remained in debt and shared with readers information about the peninsula and nearby attractions. In particular, the magazine Archeo has published great material about the ancient city of Pella.
Along with the Italians, Halkidiki became interested in another parts of the world – in Asia. China Daily in collaboration with Consulate of Greece in Shanghai and Thessaloniki Municipality prepared material about yachting in the region. The publication presented Chalkidiki and Thessaloniki as an attractive option for cultural, gastronomic and sea travel.
China Daily spokesman Eric Nilsson also managed to visit Saint Athos and Ancient Stagira. He noted high quality wines from Chalkidiki. To him, Chinese tourists, according to Nilsson, have a particular interest.
