В общей сложности 17 районов Греции и их основныеarchaeological sites were included in the new pilot project of a single ticket. Paying once, tourists can visit several monuments at once. According to Central archaeological council, the ticket will take effect from April 2016 of the year.
Using data on the number of visits and popularity attractions of Greece, the country’s archaeological council decided include in the project nearly two dozen regions and districts. Among them – Athens, Argolis, Thessaloniki, Imathia, Messinia, Ioannina, Preveza, Cyclades, Dodecanese, Crete, Corfu and Samos.
Along with famous sights, it was decided to help less popular, but no less important historical monuments. So, 2-5-day tickets included at least one little-known museum, excavation zone or monument. This should have a positive effect on increase in attendance. The price of such a ticket will vary from 3 to 30 euros. Students are waiting for discounts.
At the same time, the Ministry of Culture recently announced that April tickets to Athens museums will rise by 66%. Price for visiting other attractions will double. Maybe, in such conditions a single ticket will be a profitable acquisition for inquisitive tourists.
