Wat Paa Sang Tham is a relatively fresh Buddhist landmark Phangan, which began to build not so long ago and as I understand it, it is still under construction. Buddhist objects are usually always long unfinished because that money from temples is taken only from donations, and from them depends on the speed of construction. I could not find any in the network historical clues in Russian or English, so The narrative of the post will contain only what I saw. The place, by the way, is very cozy, secluded and beautiful.

Wat Paa Sang Tham
The temple has 2 names, one of Google Maps (Wat Paa Sang Tham), the second from the banner (Saeng Dham Temple), which hangs at the entrance. If you look closely, it’s obvious that this is practically the same Also, just Thais are not always friendly with English. Wat on Thai means temple, temple is the same in English.
The temple is located on a hillside in the valley, which passes the main road between the beaches of Thong Sala and Chaloklum. About that same part of the island, where the exit to the Paradise Falls and literally a hundred meters away from another major attraction Phangan – Chinese Temple. The temple of Paa Sang Tham, by the way, is also one of those institutions where Thai Buddhists did not limit themselves to Buddhist-themed and mixed one hundred in one. On the temple grounds there are sculptures of both the gods of Hinduism and the Chinese pantheon, apparently for greater audience reach (the well-known fact that Thais with Chinese roots in Thailand are a very large number).
The territory of the temple begins with a bridge over a charming stream. and consists of four main areas of interest: the Chinese pantheon to the right of the entrance, a new pagoda (higher than the pantheon), an old pagoda (to the left and above the old pagoda) and the statue of Buddha at the highest point locations There is a fifth zone, but it refers to the long-playing pleasures, not a five-minute jog with a camera – sauna. Phangan, in contrast to neighboring Samui, is pleased with the amount saunas that are built either for private money or are made temples (but also not free). According to the visitors, the sauna in the temple itself is quite tolerable, worthy of attention and money, but I myself am not walked, only in The Dome.
Saeng Dham Temple is written on the entrance banner
Wat Paa Sang Tham or Saeng Dham Temple
At the temple there is a room for meditation, several booths for austerities and lots of donation boxes for building and temple development. The whole area is sheltered from the sun by the jungle and discomfort can only be moisture if recently passed rain.
Move between zones of interest to the stairs or steep paths, and the most recent staircase leading to the statue Buddha has 100 steps (as the plate says at the beginning recovery, but in fact there are only 96). A place popular among Thais, well, there are quite a few tourists here – to see the entrance gates from the road will not be able only to a very short-sighted person.
Information to visit
Admission is free and free, but I’m not sure what the clock is. Parking is immediately after the bridge, not the largest size, but several cars and a dozen bikes will rise without problems. Due to the fact that the temple is acting and there are monks in the area, here The dress code “closed shoulders and knees” should be observed as for girls and men.
