I do not know why, but Chiang Mai is my favorite city in Thailand. Perhaps because he was my first in this country once. WITH it all began – and the love of Thailand, and the passion for trevewing. Almost always, when I am in Russia, or when I remember our trips to Tai, in most cases, images appear northern Thailand, and it is always with him that there are comparisons in terms of prices and attitudes of locals.

Such a native Chiang Mai
Last time in Chiang Mai I was two years ago and now I am again here. Almost a month on the road: Hong Kong – Macau – Bangkok – Kampeng Pet – Hua Hin – Pattaya – Koh Chang. And just before reaching Chiang Mai, there was a strange feeling of calm. Forgotten feeling of home when you want to stay and not think about further movements. AND the most amazing thing is that I am not alone in my feelings, and more than once already I heard from other people that they were hooked on this place.
Around the mountains, beauty!
On the other hand, I understand perfectly well that in appearance in Chiang Mai there is no nothing special or something like that why go. Therefore, I am not surprised at all by the stories of others. hikers or wintering camps who talk about Chiang Mai different than me. This is, indeed, an ordinary city.
Chiang Mai is changing. There are much more visiting people here but so far the critical mass has not yet been accumulated, and, I hope, it does not. After all, there is no sea, and this is a major plus! I haven’t seen one yet. Untamed resort location. From what else strongly rushed into eyes – building, it is everywhere, more and more hotels and condominiums. And second, new and modern songteos that now they have their own routes.
If you are going to visit Chiang Mai and are looking for accommodation, I remind you That we have a review of Chiang Mai’s 22 guesthouses. Or you can search and book a hotel in Chiang Mai on RoomGuru.
The easiest way to move around the city is on the Songteo.
It’s funny, but two years ago, I had very few friends here. people, and there were few Russians. But now communication problems should not occur anymore. On this visit, I almost every day met someone you know virtually (or who knows me), or even those whom I personally met and saw in Russia. Approximately figured intersected with more than 20 different people in a week, not counting casual dating during the holiday Loy Kratong.

The only thing I lacked here was the family. And padtai not so tasty, and the air is not so fresh, and wildly lonely in the evenings, when you are left alone. So without family and Tai not Tai, and Chiang Mai, not Chiang Mai, not to mention that you are not you-
