Phraya Nakhon Cave and Laem Sala – N1 Beach my rating

Here it is, it happened! Another place I could visit from my mandatory list for Thailand. Now there are literally 3 more points on the map. Phraya Nakhon Cave can recommend to visit anyone who will pass by Hua Hin or winter in it. This is a nearby area, very close. Go It is possible both for adults, and children, and those who are keen on photos, and those who just likes to watch. The place is already slightly poppin, but less, of all the caves I’ve seen in Thailand, it is in my ranking in the very beginning. And note, not only for me, King Rama 9 is also here noted.

Phraya Nakhon Cave

Located in the territory of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, but This park is such that it is “scattered” along the coast. So you driving along an ordinary highway, Thai villages pass by, and periodically there are turns on this or that landmark belonging to the nat park. Virtually all the district is the nat park, just money is taken not at the entrance to district, and near each attraction. Do not worry, getting lost is hard. Follow the signs to the pay booth, and there you will need to leave your transport, buy a ticket, and more on foot or by boat.

The pay box is located in the village of Bang Pu near the shore. BUT the rise uphill to the cave is located on the nearby beach of Laem Sala. There are only two ways to get to this beach: by boat or on foot. through the rock. Walk for about 20 minutes, up there first, then down. The rise begins right next to the ticket booth. I moved to Laem Sala in 10 minutes, but it is running. And he took the boat back to save time and effort.

Once on the beach Laem Sala you need to move on. Will pass several houses where you can sleep (from 1500 baht / day), as in any nat park, and see a pointer to the cave.

The ascent to the cave is more difficult and takes about 30 minutes (430 meters). Running and without rest, I got up in 20 minutes. Basically any stone staircase can be overcome if it is not in a hurry. Saw there and pensioners, and families with children. Just keep in mind that very it’s hot, and therefore you need to take plenty of water with you, well, better in the morning to go.

Passing through the jungle, you will see a sign with the name of the cave. Just go on. Here the fun begins! Cave huge ceiling height, as the 8-storey house. Not exactly the ceiling and gaping holes, as if a bomb had been thrown here. Halls two and both with gaps. Well, if you are not quite a hardened traveler, then some exclamations of delight will have to fly out of your mouth. I I personally experienced something like this when I went to Praia Nakon and saw pavilion. The play of light and shadows, peace and quiet, light coolness and Fresh air. Here you want to stay and just watch. Break idyll only tourists, although everyone is quiet.

Laem Sala Beach

After the cave, the most it is to return to the beach Laem Sala, eat something from Thai food (there is one cafe here), swim, and full of impressions to depart.

The beach itself is a little paradise: white sand, few people around nature, the shore is covered with casuarinas and needles from them. Not bounty but beautiful. At low tide, swimming may not be very convenient, but when heat, anyway. If you have the strength and desire, you can walk on the right side of the beach, there are small grottoes, as well as two more pieces of beach separated by rocks. Both that, and that, it is possible to visit only low tide, well, or have to go on the water (or even swim).

Back boat ride

As I said, I swam back in the boat. Went to hang out on the banks of the Thais (employees of the nat park), and they said that the price of boat 200 baht, and here, they say, the boatman, swim. But I, smiling, went to parked boats, there just some Thai couple was going push off Loneller from nat park for a while tried me to reason with me, but did not work out :) As a result, another boatman took me for 100 baht.

For more photos and a more detailed description of the beach, see separate article.

Information to visit

All the attractions of the nat park – described in detail in his post

The entrance to the national park is standard 200 baht. By This ticket can see all the objects of the park, but during one day. Therefore, if you want to climb everything, come here early in the morning. Visiting time from morning to 6 pm approximately, then eat before dark.

To get to the cave you will need to walk, but part the ways can be done by boat (described in more detail above). Booth ticket sales in the nat park is right near the shore right after Wat Bang Pu (where there is also a cave). There are also parked boats. We bought a ticket and went to the boats. Standard price 200 baht per boat per one side, but if you know how to bargain, then swim away and for 100 baht Back also. Swim 5 minutes.

Phraya Nakhon Cave makes sense to visit in the morning before lunch if you want to take beautiful pictures. From about 11:30 pm the sun starts to leave the pavilion and it turns out to be the shadows. Believe me, it’s better to photograph it lit, it looks completely different. I photographed about 10: 30-11 hours.

If you want to visit this place, you can stay in Hua Hine, for example, in a budget hotel, where we stayed once. Alternatively, search for other hotels in Hua Hin at this link.

But if you go from Hua Hin is not a hunt, but, on the contrary, you want spend time around the Sam Roi Yod National Park, then you can stay in that comfortable apartment where we lived, or search for RoomGuru hotel somewhere near. See for yourself there you can and on the beach Dolphin will stop (our option), but you can close to the cave of Phraya Nakhon.
