In the conclusion of our first winter in Thailand, I would like to share in numbers. Since we keep the budget, then calculate how much money is spent from November 2010 to April 2011 is not difficult. Those who are going to go to Thailand for the winter, maybe it will be useful.
But I warn you right away. Whenever you see such calculations, consider specific needs, specific people. So how can live, and much cheaper, and much more expensive. In particular, in winter 2013 years we lived quite on other money—
The content of the article
- 1 To begin, our needs
- 2 Our spending on winter in Thailand
- 3 Conclusions
To begin with, our needs
There are only two of us. We do not like party and nightlife. We do not drink and do not smoke, but in addition also vegetarians. This already allows us spend less money, not only for the winter in Thailand, and at all.
When we lived in Chiang Mai we had just one-room apartments, because we have few things and there is no need to have a large area. True, we later lived in a two-room apartment, and the last few months generally in a house on the island of Phuket. Regarding our main furniture the requirement was a table and two chairs for the worker places.

Sweet winter in thailand
We like to eat in Thai cafes, which means cheap food. In supermarkets, we did not buy imported products for Europeans, which are more expensive than in Europe.
We did not travel all day throughout the winter in Thailand. We rather treated it as if we were living at home, We work, therefore our trips were of short duration (left for the weekend, for a week, combined with a visa-wound). For all time we managed to live in Chiang Mai and Phuket, to visit Pai, Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, Nong Khai, Pattaya, and Malaysia and Laos.
Our winter spending in Thailand
(!) All budgets are for 2011, most likely now It has become a bit more expensive.
All these figures are written at the rate of two people. If you going alone or in a different composition, you will need to reduce or increase the amount.
To compare spending per month:
How much we spend on living in Thailand in Chiang Mai spend life in Thailand Phuket
First, the most significant item of expenditure is the flight Moscow-Bangkok. We spent 25,500 rubles on tickets to Thai rubles and 25,500 rub on return tickets.
Total for 6 months of life in Thailand with all our trips for two left – 131500 rubles, excluding personal expenses, such as clothes, equipment, gifts to Russia and other things.
Spending on all months:
November 16000 rub. (Chiang Mai) December 14500 rub. (Chiang Mai) + 17300rub for a trip to Malaysia (tickets, accommodation, excursions) January 16400 rub. (Chiang Mai and a trip to Pai, Chiang Saen) February 23000 rub. (Chiang Mai, trip to Pai, travel to Phuket, from Arrival in Sukhothai, Laos, Nong Khai, Pattaya) March 24300 rub. (Phuket Island) April 20000 rub. (Phuket Island)
Total: 131500 + 51000 = 182500 rubles for all (accommodation + flight)
findings
If you divide this amount by 6 months, you get 30,500 rubles per month for a family of two people. This amount is standard for many in Moscow.
It is the flight that makes its own adjustments to the savings. Hence the conclusion – it is necessary to go to Thailand not just for the winter, but for the longest time limit The longer you live, the cheaper Thailand is for you, especially this applies to rental housing. And also, there is such a moment, if you fly (that there, back) not in season, then air tickets can go quite at ridiculous prices. Tickets I advise to look at Aviasales.ru and Skyscanner.ru, we regularly use them ourselves.
Those to whom this amount does not seem to be lifting, I hasten to please, if you will live in one place, and you will travel to a minimum, and also, for example, stop living in Chiang Mai, Phuket Town, or islands less tourist, the amount will be dramatically reduced. If you are just going to rest for a short time, then you are more This layout is suitable for prices – How much to take money to Thailand to rest.
