Hotel in Hanoi near the Thai Embassy – Hanoi Grand Hotel

I have been told many times that hotels in Vietnam are cheaper than in Thailand, now I know it from my own experience. First when If you look at the booking sites, it seems that the prices are similar, but then in fact, it turns out that, for example, the number is huge, or else some buns. This is exactly what happened to me, the number in reality turned out to be better than in the photos. Usually the opposite happens.

Price and reservation

Когда я бронировал отель Urban Alley Hotel Hotel in Hanoi near the Thai Embassy - Hanoi Grand Hotel (позже переименованный в Hanoi Grand Hotel),The price was $ 18 per night. As the course changes, the cost may be different, see for yourself. In my opinion just great combination of price and quality! Suitable for both couples and families with children, the area and the beds allow, but, of course, this is not an apartment hotel.

Be sure (and I insist) check for discounts or special offers on the excellent Roomguru service. He is fast and easy will show you discounts in all existing reservation systems. AT the same Asia, for example, there are lots of offers on Agoda.com, which much more interesting than on exactly the same hotels in Booking.com.

When the hotel manager escorted me to the room, he repeatedly I asked whether I was alone, for two nights in total — When the door opened, I understood what his questions and surprise were for: the number was just huge, plus there were two large and wide beds. Of course however, I alone would not need so much space, and the bed would be enough one. But I did not know that it would be so spacious here. Yes, and if I knew, I would have chosen this hotel anyway, because it suited me price and location, so let’s say I booked a hotel from the bottom price range, only hostels were significantly cheaper, and I something not very fond of.

So, as I said, the number is big. Maybe high ceilings also added a sense of spaciousness. Of the unusual – the floor wooden. How is it great, but already this ubiquitous tile. Well, everything else is pretty typical for Asian budget hotel: TV, kettle, mini-fridge with charge soda (minibar), a couple of bottles of free water, safe in the closet, hot water from the heater and shampoo-gel-toothbrush. By the way the heater is not flow-through, but cumulative, i.e. 15 minutes before taking a shower.

What surprised me the most about the internet connection at this hotel turned out to be much better than in all apartments and houses where I happened to live in Thailand. It is clear that he does not reach the Russian, but 14 megabits in both directions, this is very cool. I finally could upload to the cloud all the video files I need, literally overnight all burst out. In Tae, it would take a couple of weeks.

Cleaning and linen change every day. Also gave 2 water bottles and new bottles with soap and soap accessories. For me, everything is fine for the money. And if you take the number a little expensive, Deluxe for 1500 rubles, then there will still be included breakfast. But, as elsewhere in Asia, in Hanoi is not a problem to eat in any street cafe, or in the hotel itself.

Exterior

As I understand it, most hotels in Hanoi are a few storeys. narrow houses, so inside they have spiral staircases. In my hotel there was also an elevator, and I lived on the 6th floor. There were 2 rooms in total floor.
