Bambu Island near Phi Phi

The island faces Phi Phi Don rocky, overgrown with greenery. side, and the beach itself is hidden on the back end of Bambu Island. Boats approach to both banks, and I still do not understand the principle – Why do some swim straight to heaven, and the latter – in the wild jungle. Perhaps on the beach itself have the right to land only thieves boatmen, well, or if you gild a pen to your captain.

And one more assumption – private boatmen (which was mine) did not They want to pay for visiting the nat park, so they drive tourists from On the other hand, on foot in a circle, they say, this is a kind of entertainment. I won’t make it up, it was my boatman who said so. And I walked along the climb stones and thought what is the buzz. And given that I did not know that with the other side of the island has a gorgeous beach, I generally initially I did not understand why this stupid stone island visits so much people.

Bambu Beach on Bambu Island is a huge sandy beach with snow-white sand, quite civilized, with toilets, different amenities and – with a cafe. The only negative that instantly striking: there are too many people on the beach, and along the coast a handful of flotilla boats. Although we must pay tribute to the size the beach is so big and wide that a crowd of tourists It is not such a serious problem, and here no one is with anyone not pushing like on maya bay. Bamboo Beach and other sizes effect: because of the heat, everyone is trying to hide in the shade of the trees, closer to the edges of the beach.

In general, the whole island can be slowly walked around in an hour, but everything interesting is exactly on the beach. On the right edge of the beach you can see the ruins of the tsunami houses that still survived 26 December 2004, when all the lowlands of Phi Phi Don and the surrounding Islands were for some time under water.

Because of the surf line, a two or three meter wide strip along the coast Bambu Beach is slightly muddy, but with calm water here you will find complete relaxation (but not privacy). The central part of the beach from its widths seems rather free despite the people and parked boats.

Information to visit

Ko Mai Pay is an island from the category of nature reserves, therefore the entrance here paid: 400 baht per adult and 200 per child.

Prices for drinks and snacks are bullied – drinking coconut 120 baht. AT cafe is not for sale alcohol. Smoke only in specially designated places.

By the way, as one of the options far “wrong” landing – it is the payment of duty to the National Park, which the boatman chose to keep himself, because they usually take with arriving boats, and not personally with each tourist.

Tent cities and bungalows are not here. By the way, bamboo I haven’t met on Bamboo Island, but there is a lot of casuarin here, which are so similar to our larches.

Opposite the beach, at some distance from the shore there is a reef with fish. Not the Red Sea, but still people quite keen fit to take away the soul, beware of the currents.
