Trek to Tube Kake in Krabi – better than mountains, can only be mountains

Not all the best sights of Krabi are included in sightseeing tours that are massively consumed by the average tourist. Trekking through the Tub Kaek Hang Nak Mountain Park (Tab Kak Hang Nak Nature Trail) – just one of those adventures that can afford only the most energetic people. Depending on your physical training, trekking will take from two to five hours in both sides. The route goes along the ridge of Mount Tub Kaek, which its profile resembles a frozen sea wave. On the way you several viewpoints and local flora fauna will be encountered, and at the end awaits the coolest in Krabi panorama. No worse than the top of the Tiger Temple (by the way, I also highly recommend it).

Trek to Tube Kaek Hang Nak

I am very glad that I managed to climb Tub Kaek. It’s great that I was able to allocate time for this. It is clear that this is not The most popular tourist destination in Krabi, and it is not quite fits well into the overall outline of my trip to the best the sights of Krabi or more precisely by popular. Yes, and myself Recreation format, only a few can be called “rest.” He is more suitable for people who love trekking and eco-tourism, mountains and the forest, test your abilities and literally – achievement heights

Therefore, I regarded this trekking as a walk for myself. loved one, bored on various kinds of hikes. And since I most of all I love nature and all kinds of observation platforms, from which breathtaking, this place just must see. If you understand about than me, you also need to get here, not regret it!

By the way, more recently, I started to run, but because of travel the whole schedule has long gone astray. Therefore, my visit plan was originally to run on this mountain. Not walking, but really – to run in, thereby killing two birds with one stone, combining the useful with enjoyable. However, after 500 meters, I realized that I slightly underestimated Tub Kaek.

The rest of the way, and this is 3.3 km, I passed a quick step. The application counted a total of 3.8 kilometers. The path passes along jungle, gradually transforming from a wide dirt road for cars, in the trail with stepped races of stones and koryag trees. At first I wondered where and why cars are here, but on the way I met a tractor on tracks. Most likely he is engaged in clearing and leveling the road after the rains and landslide. The jungle is also not immortal, constantly something falls, blocks, and piles on.

In total, I counted two serious, rather steep sections and three less lifting. To the middle of the road, the road constantly goes uphill, in some places it turns into an almost vertical ladder, where jump over roots, rocks and gully. After the first viewpoint will be several horizontal segments where you can without stopping take breath. No auxiliary priblud like railing or ropes with knots are not here. So, I highly recommend not to approach to prepare at random and not to drag uphill in the shales. By oneself I will say that when you jump on all these potholes and crawl out to the first viewpoint (the number plate is hanging there), it seems – here it is, hurray, got.

In fact, this is about half of the entire track. And the first viewpoint is very weak in terms of visibility, overgrown at the edges and from it almost nothing is visible. But the main thing is that the main rises already behind, it will be easier further.

The trail gradually goes to the left, on the opposite slope and suddenly you get to the platform with boulders and railings. Here is a view of the valley is already beginning to worry and requires photo-fixation. But it still the very end is not – the trail leads to the very top (another 5 minutes walk) and there will be a couple of huge rocks with ladders and this is the goal of everything travels.

The views are stunning, it becomes immediately clear why many people love Krabi. Incredibly picturesque valley with spots clouds, miniature houses and a river, the edge of the sea, and scattered rocks everywhere the look falls. It feels like mountains fell from the sky a thousand years ago, and then overgrown with trees and grass. Krabi is a beauty that strikes equally, wherever you didn’t look at her, whether from above or from below – you won’t stay indifferent. And one more important point: there are to the right of the rocks with the ladders a place not having been to which you can not assume that you were on Tub Kaeka. There is a rock a la “The Lion King”, on which, with proper perspective, you can take pictures on the topic “I’m above catcher. ”

Unfortunately, when I visited Tub Kakek it was raining and I got wet literally to the skin, but in the tropics, it’s not scary. Frankly to say, in some ways it was even not bad, because to beat such a track along the heat would be much harder, and I would have been wet with nothing less – that is a fact. It is better to rise in the rain than to die from dehydration in Thai noon. But not without cons, of course. Rain brought by fog and hazy the whole valley, so the views were not the same piercing depth how could this happen in clear the weather.

Information to visit

The entrance to Mount Tub Kaek is free, but below you will have to sign up at Ranger: put your name, time, and on the way back exactly also note the time of exit from the park. Made it for your own safety, and I see no point in ignoring this formality. If you wish, you can leave a tip in the box for ranger, which stands there, on the table. Time to visit Tab Kakeku lay with such a calculation that you spend is not the order three hours, and most often it takes about four hours.

If you take an ordinary person without physical training, then the rise will take He has one and a half or two hours, and the descent will take about an hour or so. And not less than half an hour you will need to inspect the peak and a breather. Have I managed to get upstairs in an hour with quick steps, and I went down half an hour with light running, well, and upstairs spent about an hour, doing shooting and going live. If that, then get confused, In my opinion, it is impossible, the path is one and there are rare pointers.

Be sure to take a couple of bottles of water with you – it will be hot. Definitely need sports or trekking shoes, not sandals and not slates. Only sensible, comfortable, strong shoes that will sit firmly on foot. Although, as usual, I met people there and shale

Well, with the weather, keep in mind: it will be easier to go to cloudy, but there is little to see, or a hard rise in the heat, but with stunning panoramic views. It seems to me that a compromise is to go in the morning, in the morning chill, if I may say so about the morning in southern Thailand.
