Krabi Town is a pretty provincial town that plays the role of the provincial capital. It is much more beautiful and interesting. Peripheral cities like Surat Thani or Nakhon Titammarat. Here, of course, there are a number of attractions that you can it would take a look but otherwise it’s just a Thai city for life and work of the Thais. A city that has not yet been spoiled tourist flow, although everything necessary for tourists here will find.

Krabi Town is a long rectangle if you can so to speak, which in the south rests on the sea, ferries leave from here on pee pee and lantu. In the north, it is limited to federal highway No. 4, on which houses the main hypermarkets of the city (Tesco, Big Sea, Home Pro) and the airport. And in the west and east almost two-thirds of the city pass along the banks of the Krabi River.

Tourists with vouchers to Ao Nang arriving by plane to Krabi airport, as a rule, do not see the town, because the main the transfer traffic passes on high-speed roads, detouring close and cork Krabi town. And, as a rule, do not attend it during holidays, because it’s 25 kilometers and extra costs for the trip.

But Krabi Town knows backpackers and budget travelers who are ready to forgive the city for lack own beach, instead of humane guesthouse prices. They are here almost three times lower than in the resort area of Krabi. Main the streets where housing is concentrated can be considered the Chao Fa Alley (Chao Fah) and Utarakit street (Utarakit rd), although in general the guest house is stuck throughout the city.

Animal traffic lights

The stretched city is streaked into pieces by three main roads. Trails 4, 4034 and 411 ring Krabi Town around the perimeter, and The central long road is considered to be the main one – Maharaj Road. From the seafront from Pak Nam Park Pier, longtails run to Khao Kanab Nam local attractions – caves in the midst mangroves. The price is not the most gentle, so it’s best to type the company is bigger, man 6-10, then it will not be so expensive.

You can rent kayaks for pokatushki on the river, but there must be attentive to the ebb and flow times. Actually, on the river Krabi River looks like just because you see brown water between two green banks. But at maximum low tide you wonder what a ridiculous creek remains right in the middle of the riverbed rivers. All the rest of the water here is sea water. So at the beginning of low tide you can easily be dragged into the sea.

On the contrary – in the sense that you can get there only by boat. Some hundred meters, but you will not pass on foot. But you have fun (or parrots) local wild monkeys in mangroves. Do not forget that it is no dogs and no good people from the movies. If you have to go through bridge across a flock of monkeys, do not attempt to contact and do not look into your eyes, well, they nafig. And the more so do not try to feed them, and then they will rip off you like a sticky with a camera, earrings and bag.

Tara Park

Of the parks in Krabi Town, there is only one really big Park – Tara. The rest is rather beautiful, well-groomed squares. BUT here in Tara Park there is a stadium, sports equipment, running and bike paths, as well as a great playground for children. This is in addition to ordinary lawns and fields. And before entering the park you will meet the whole curb of macawnings where nobody speaks in English.
