With this set I rode a week and a half across the north of Thailand, and the rest of my belongings remained in the apartment in Bangkok. But with such a backpack you can come straight from Russia, you will only need to solve the issue with warm clothes in case you go in the winter. I I usually ask friends to take them to the airport and then meet them too, then they can leave the winter jacket, hat and so on. Although again, in car warm, and in principle almost nowhere warm things on the road is not would need. True, last year I was very sorry during the transit in Novosibirsk, that I didn’t have anything warm with me, -36 degrees and I almost went numb.
In this set, a lot may lack someone, first aid kits or something else. But all these issues are solved on the spot, so here everyone chooses for himself what is closer to him: to travel at all light but with less comfort, or carry a large heaviness. I personally have not yet come to a single option, then so, then so I can, but rather lean towards the minimalist version.
Also after wintering this year and small tay raids made a conclusion for myself that really calmly doing without all sorts of photo bags and photo-cameras.
