Short rest in the south of France

One of our readers, Natalya Kalinina, after our articles about France, I wanted to tell about my vacation in this wonderful country.

After spending August with relatives in Germany, where they spent the whole month the rains and the temperature almost did not rise above 16-17 degrees, I very happy when friends invited me for a week relax on the Cote d’Azur France. If heaven exists, probably it should look that way. Idyllic azure sea merges with a clear blue sky on the horizon, snow-white yachts and seagulls rocking peacefully on the waves, the warm sun and palm trees in surrounded by ancient mountains …

Flew by plane, in Germany it is often cheaper than by train (by plane there and back – 200 euros, by train only in one direction it would be more expensive). The view from the window was simply amazing! Flying over the snow-white tops of the Swiss Alps, the plane flew over Cannes and headed further into the sea. I first frightened maybe she got into the wrong plane and in Cannes he didn’t does it stop Or was he hijacked and we fly to Turkey? But the plane smoothly turned over the sea and went to the landing. It turned out Cannes airport is located directly at sea. Probably the land there darling, so it was staged on a huge mound on the coastal stones.

Customs in France, in my opinion, the most liberal of those encountered by me. In Kiev, Boryspil had to stand several queues, my flight to Dusseldorf was not on the schedule at all and I for a long time I could not find where to go. Baggage customs not looked, but I was just in case scanned. Several germans once carefully examined me from all sides from head to toe, shook out the luggage and nearly took the chocolate cream (liquid It is forbidden to transport as hand luggage, even chocolate). French people did not look at all, smiled, made a compliment and said goodbye

Outside it was pleasantly warm. Along the coast stretches the beach with a stunning bright azure color of water. I asked the Frenchman: “You that you tint it on purpose? “He smiled and replied that it due to the fact that on the Cote d’Azur there is practically no sand of its own, only stones that give such an exceptional color to the sea. AT Cannes has several paid beaches with imported sand.

Cannes was once part of Italy. And today there are many signage in Italian and many Italians live. However, Russian there, probably no less. Russian cries I heard in every nook and cranny.

Narrow streets lined perpendicular to the shore. In the summer heat in their shadows are always cool – the narrower the street, the stronger it is blown by the wind from the sea.

Cannes surround the mountains. Two hours by car ski resort. But in August there is nothing to do there.

In France, the roads are paid, the fare is 5 euros per 100 km. Periodically there are such posts here. In the presence of annual cards, payment passes very quickly, almost without stopping car – the driver puts the card to the windshield, the camera reads and instantly raises the barrier. But at rush hour in the morning and in the evening, when they go to and from work – huge traffic jams.

Despite the hot climate, this pink wonder blooms throughout the summer and until mid autumn. These shrubs adorn the entire coast, along runs and in almost every yard.

Snail, which the French have not yet eaten. I, by the way, fed fried snails and frogs, but that’s another story.

Old provincial France. Just 40 km from Cannes, at an altitude of 1097 meters away is the tiny village of Barges, which, does not seem to notice the time.
