On the last day of our stay in Kaluga, yielding to “Persuasion” of the beginning frost to spend more time indoors, we went to the museum of cosmonautics in order to see firsthand and feel the spirit of the cradle of astronautics, as well as go to planetarium, where we were advised to visit one of our readers. We did not go alone, but with the locals of Vova and Lyuba, with whom we lived in Kaluga. And the impressions we all gained there were different and contradictory—

This campaign was informative, although, I confess, a little strange. Well, to begin with, in all the halls where copies of various aircraft in full size (why only copies?), now and then met completely outgoing brain With its shapes and colors, strange structures made of foam and other materials. Finally confused us exhibit called “Laika”, the one that flew into space. But the author The work saw her in some kind of light. Imagine dismembered stool re-knit in a hurry with blindfolded – this is what this masterpiece looked like.
We thought for a long time, wondered what kind of strange installation it was and what the authors wanted to say this, and why all this is exhibited in the museum cosmonautics. It turned out that everything is very simple – these are works of children 7-12. years exhibited in the Museum with the assistance of the wife of the governor of the city, which deals with all sorts of social projects. And we do not know now, rejoice or even more upset that these masterpieces were made by children, like this is our future after all. Did not find normal materials and concepts?

Another surprising point was the study of the drawings and sketches of K.E. Tsiolkovsky, according to the official version of the self-taught scientist and the cosmonautics pioneer who invented a rocket model capable fly into space. Honestly, I didn’t know much about it. man before visiting the museum, but after I saw drawn by him jumping little men on springs, I crept in doubts about his genius and significance.

Naturally, upon arrival home, I began to dig in the Internet, and I did not find unequivocal answers to my questions. But interesting I met the facts after all, I don’t know if this is true or not. For example, the fact that Tsiolkovsky began to be called “famous scientist” after in 1935 our great leader sent him telegram, which flaunted the phrase “the famous scientist Tsiolkovsky “. In this case, the assignment of such a high-profile status attracted imposing censorship on most of his writings, many of which were not cosmic, but of a philosophical nature. And more than once There is a comparison between Tsiolkovsky and Jules Verne. Or that Konstantin Eduardovich was a deeply religious man, and that calm down about the suicide of his two sons, developed independent theory of the reincarnation of souls. And the fact that its airborne airspeed formula space was originally invented not by him, but by some Meshchersky or even by Ganswindt—
Still, it is difficult to deny that Tsiolkovsky, being simple a rural physics teacher, while being an outstanding person and most likely made a considerable contribution to the development of science of time.

And finally – Planetarium. Very “polite” ticket seller, “forgot” to warn us that we will get to the program for teenagers, so in the hall we had a culture shock. And not only because this program barely pulled onto the nursery, and not teenage (what then is shown to children?), but also because 40 minute program starry sky literally flashed just a couple of times. All the rest of the time we listened to incoherent conversations badly drawn computer characters, whose hands moved, like claws, and managed to see a couple of cartoons, one of which was – Smeshariki! Honestly, since the previous night I was bad I slept, while watching, I frankly fell asleep twice and not at all did not regret it.
Well, this is no good! There are enough cartoons for children and at home— I I remember my delight in visiting the planetarium in childhood, all these mysterious constellations. The feeling that in Kaluga money allocated for the program for the planetarium, someone sawed, so riveted not understand that. I understand that the old program was much better (according to reviews), and about the stars.
