Temple with a statue of a monk on a boat
The person to whom the statue is dedicated and the building below it are completely is real. In 1582, in the family of a poor Malaysian farmer born a boy who went through a worthy and wonderful life Buddhist path and a hundred years later ended his days in Thailand. Buddhism, he was fond of from an early age, with the support of very devout parents. From the age of five he received lessons from teachers in temples, and this science was given to him surprisingly easy, that immediately affected his lifestyle: after all the surrounding temples gave their knowledge, Luang Po went to travels.
In one of these trips, and a story happened, which gave the main motive of the composition in the courtyard of the temple Bophutaram. Heading by the sea to the then capital – Ayuttayu, Luang Po got into a serious storm, after which the ship went astray. No storm subsided for several days, the water supplies came to an end, where to swim – it is not clear – in general, the crew of the ship quite seriously decided that the cause of all the evils and their inevitable, seemingly doom, is this alien monk.
Without waiting for the crew to throw him overboard, Luang Por Tuad he began to pray while sitting on the edge of the boat and dropping one leg into the water. Sea quieted down. People too. And the monk ordered the quieter people as soon as possible. grab buckets and draw water overboard, which turned out to be fresh. So they got to their destination – without a loss, and in reverent silence.

The temple grounds are quite ordinary.
