Crimea caves: Emine Bair Khosar or Mammoth cave

Before our trekking in the mountains, we met our new friends living near Simferopol. They are to us and told about the famous cave of Crimea Emine Bair Khosar and offered go there. About how we got there on a quad, I I’ll tell you some other time. I can only mention that sensations was too much since this four-wheeled monster is too powerful and strove to throw me off.

The cave of Crimea Emine Bair Khosar – located on the lower plateau Chatyr Doug at an altitude of about 1000 meters. Therefore, those who go into it given the opportunity to admire the mountain views. Of course they are not as beautiful as from the upper plateau of Chater Dag, but as a bonus it’s quite will do. Besides Emine Bair Khosar, there is also a popular cave Marble and a number of small caves that are visited only by individual tourist groups.

Our friends assured us that in the nearby Marble Cave many more people and despite its great fame, the cave Emine Bair Khosar does not yield to her at all. And I did not have them reason not to believe, so we did visit only one and did not regret anything.

Caves of Crimea: Emine Bair Khosar

The second name Mammoth Cave she received because of the mammoth, dropped inside. Initially the entrance to the cave was 16-meter vertical well (where animals fell) and only in our time has been made an artificial entrance for organized groups. We are shown the upper level of the cave, and there is also the lower Bair, which is closed to visitors. The tour is long and remember all the rooms in which we were, as well as the names of certain stalactites and stalagmites, quite difficult. Therefore, the photo from Emine Bair Hosar will not be all signed. Immediately apologize for their quality, the tripod could not be used, and the built-in flash very much trash the picture.

The length of the cave is about one and a half kilometers, and the depth is about 120 meters. It is much more than Terpi Koba, about which I wrote a couple of days ago, and about the same as Batu caves in Malaysia. True, there are no stalactites and stalagmites in the latter.
