Chater Dag and Eklizi-Burun – one-day hike out Alushta

He began to gradually disassemble photos from the Crimea, of which it was made a lot of week and a half stay, and I want to talk about our one-day outing from Alushta to Chatyr Dag. This one day hike very good in terms of its availability, both for walkers and for simple vacationers. Although, of course, do without physical effort will not work, and accustomed only to small movements between Housing and beach / cafe, it will not work. Similar walks are very convenient if there is no time for a long hike, but really want to the mountains. I remember how exactly the same day we walked on foot Mount Two Brothers in the Caucasus, in the Alps near Grenoble in France, and also straight on the car on the Lagonaki plateau with a height of 2000 meters Adygea.

Chatyr Dag Yayla – is a mountain plateau (Yayla means mountain pasture) with several peaks. The highest mountain Eklizi-Burun, 1527 meters high. Actually, on it we set off.

Mountain trolley is in the course only in the Crimea. I do not know, how expedient it was to make this kind of transport, but for me He is the most convenient for this campaign of one day. Trolley goes no less often than once every 20 minutes, it starts from the bus station in Alushta, almost all the rooms are going in the right direction and you need the one that goes to Angarsk pass. By the way, just as before the Angarsk pass you can safely get from Simferopol and Yalta, the travel time is just will be more. So, from Alushta, the trolleybus travels about 30-40 minutes. And not despite the fact that copies of older are moving along Alushta itself me we were driving a modern air-conditioned trolley with TVs and watched cartoons. The fare is only 4 hryvnia (16 rubles).

Cross the road (main road) and walk a few hundred meters before the camp site on the asphalt, we got to the camp site, and immediately after entering on its territory turned right onto the unpaved dirt road up. They even have pointers. And indeed the whole route is marked marks (red stripe) due to its popularity. In 2009 on Eklizi-Burun already made a religious procession. This I mean, even without cards are quite difficult to get lost, and in extreme cases you can ask meeting people the right way.

You can go in different ways, but the nearest one runs through tourist parking Beech meadow, which is on the maps, just like permitted parking is not marked, but you can stand with a tent according to the forester. This stretch takes about 1 hour. of time. There is a spring, where you can update the water reserves, and wild pears, quite edible in august. The most difficult begins just after Beech Meadow – after a while the forest ends and will rise almost at an angle of 45 degrees. That is why, it’s good to go to Radikova from Beech Meadow (radial hike), leaving here heavy backpacks.

After parking, we climbed up, encountering pointers to Hangar-Burun (they really do not indicate a specific direction). it one more such peak on Chatyr Dag, which will remain aside, since in fact the main path still leads to Eklizi-breaker.

During the long and difficult climb, we were rewarded gorgeous views of Alushta, Demerdzhi yaylu and Babugan yaylu. AT principle, you can get very tired around here and finish your path, as further mountain views will not change much. But worth Consider that there will be only one small climb ahead in the the end. To go on Chatyr Dag yayla still about an hour.

Naturally, we were determined to reach the end, because we walked lightly and we simply could not not visit the highest point of Chatyr Dag. Most of all we didn’t want the rain constantly and Chater Dag and Demerdzhi were shrouded in a veil of clouds, but in this day the sun, though not constantly shining, but the weather had mercy

From here it was visible from the height of the lower plateau Chatir Dag, along which just a week ago, we ripped on quad bikes. Funny in that day, we looked the other way around this peak, and wondered how there upstairs :)

In total, the whole trip took about 6 hours: 4 up + 2 down, this without taking time to travel by trolley, as well as stay on the top. So quite such a nice walk for one day for lovers of mountain views, and even no equipment is needed.
