Adler Aquarium – surprisingly delight and shock

There are two aquariums in the city of Sochi in total, about which i know One stands in the Riviera Park in Sochi, not far from Dolphinarium, and the second – in Adler. By the way, Adler also has its own Dolphinarium within walking distance of the aquarium. And so it turned out that in the Riviera a cool dolphinarium and “so-so” the aquarium, and in Adler on the contrary: the largest aquarium in the Russian Federation and not the best dolphinarium. Oceanarium in Adler (aka Sochi Discovery World Aquarium) – this is my best impression from a trip to April 2018, of course – after a bungee jump in Skype Park. AND Believe me – I have something to compare with: Siam Ocean World and Aquaria KLCC, for example.

Adler Aquarium

For a person who is not yet tempted by this kind of amusement, it will be at least interesting, and as a maximum – he will be delighted and shock. And I was quite skeptical, given the experience visits to oceanariums in other countries and a sufficient amount negative reviews online. What people did not like, I do not know. Only if the price.

Oceanarium in Adler – the place is extremely positive and I strongly recommend him to visit with boys and girls early age. If the teen is still hard to surprise, after all his computer games and modern movies, the little one sticks to transparent walls shouting “Pirates! Treasure! Sharks!” and not wants to listen to grumbling guards who constantly demand move away from the glass. Entertainment is great for both lonely and bored and for family camping.

Inside the aquarium (and this is the first impression, right from the door) – very comfortable temperature. After the hot Krasnodar sun – Here, “the most it is” to raise the mood. In the hall there is a zone cafe, gaming area with computer entertaining and machine guns, ticket offices and turnstiles at the entrance.

Inspection of aquariums starts from the second floor, where you they take the elevator up, and at first the spectacle is not particularly impressive. Whole the second floor is a very beautifully decorated room, styled as jungle with ponds and waterfalls. Many aquariums with different, cute and not very fish. In the middle of the hall there is an apparatus according to selling capsules with food for carp “koi” – 50 r apiece. Beautiful, but very boring.

Inside the room is dark and flash photography is prohibited, but there are many decorative pillars everywhere, where you can safely put the camera and shoot with a long exposure, although because of this fish and all moving objects are blurry. So that pre-tune in that the first floor you will have is not very photo-productive, and all the main pictures from the aquarium in Adler you make a floor below. Owners of weak or old photo prongs in the aquarium will in principle be uncomfortable.

When you are slightly discouraged and are about to leave the hall, A pleasant surprise awaits you. After the black corridor with pictures on the walls, which are made of neon colors and highlighted ultraviolet lamps, you are not in the shop with souvenirs (the classic end of such rides), and on the first floor buildings, with huge aquariums in the whole wall.

Behind the glass you can see the sunken pirate ship, chests and guns, stingrays, fish and turtles – a real underwater world in its rich, varicolored diversity. Sticking for ten minutes for sure guaranteed – the spectacle is fascinating and disarming, you immediately forgive the oceanarium for its price for entry and get lying idle camera.

But this is not the final either, because after the pirate ship awaits you The next stage of emotions – underwater tunnels.

Going around a large aquarium, passing by jellyfish, sea anemones and small living creatures you find yourself in front of the entrance to the semicircular tunnel – the road through the waters in which the inhabitants live seas. And here begins the real pleasure, with open mouth and with my eyes, with wonder as in childhood, when I want to poke at everything finger and shout “Mom, look – SHARK!”.

Adults, of course, behave with restraint, and children go crazy and to look at their amazement is a touching bonus from the aquarium for parents. The tunnel is quite long, with turns and continuation, ends with an aquarium with sharks and hanging under ceiling mock shark jaws.

This layout is repeated in an enlarged size as follows. the room where the guys with cameras lurked in ambush taking pictures for money. You do not shoot on your camera here. Allow, alas. Opposite of the photo-merchants there are a couple of aquariums. with an interestingly painted background, a la tropical island, and – end of exposure with turnstiles.

Exit is possible only irrevocably, as the sign warns near the door. So if you put off any interesting shots – it’s time to go back and make them. After turnstiles you find yourself in a large hall with souvenirs (like unexpectedly!) and the exit from the aquarium will be near the big pirate, standing on the street.

How to get there

You can get to the aquarium in Adler by car, but parking will have to search. Near the building there is a small space, but I did not understand how to get there, so I went the easy way – got up in a parking lot at a nearby clinic. It must go down the street Lenin to the gas station “NT” and turn opposite to her towards the sea. Free parking, and 300 meters from the entrance to the Oceanarium. More In addition, there was an aunt in the parking lot with tickets, which I got tickets for 700 rubles and told me where to go.
