Lykovskaya HPP was built in the middle of the last century, and provided electricity to a dozen collective farms. It is located in Oryol region in Mtsenskom area, near the village of Big Lykovo. If you search, it’s still on the satellite map it is clear – such an isthmus across the river.

I don’t really know how hydroelectric power plants worked, so it’s unlikely I can judge what and how it was before. I can say just that there is nothing left inside the equipment, the building looks at you with his empty sockets-windows, and the water is calm flows between the concrete walls where previously there should have been water traps. Only in one place is the mechanism for raising the shutter, the rest is not there.

Most of all I liked the wooden bridge over the river the dam. He is very colorful, I think that there would be a good place for photo shoots. In addition, the wooden pillars, which are flooring, smell like sleepers, and I really love this smell since childhood.
